The Gift of Oblivion I, II, III
2018. Acrylic on timber. Each panel 30 x 30 cm

Description
The gift of oblivion is a reference to the subtitle of Kate Cole-Adams’ book “Anaesthesia: The Gift of Oblivion and The Mystery of Consciousness”. In this book there are a range of references to shimmering and dappled light and meditations on the passing of time. I strongly relate to reverie inspired by the observation and contemplation of such things. More specifically, the works are responding to the words: “…everything-…, even our brightly coloured salads..-was plumped and raucous with light.”
