Musenations

EXHIBITION NOTES
'Musenations' is a constructed word used to describe musings expressed in a physical form, usually images, music or words.

'Regardless of individual art practice, artworks embody a process of enabling, enacting and actioning a physical incarnation of someone’s contemplations or musings in response to the physical and psychological world we inhabit'.

Using the above definition, this exhibition features a range of ‘musenations’ created by a diverse group of artists desiring to express their thoughts, observations and responses to the world around them through the specific artworks they have created.

Description
This image is a contemplation of a microscopic view of encapsulated energy, and its resemblance to an endless imagined landscape.

It forms part of a broader series called ‘Infinite Sketch’, whereby the skeletal composition of an image is generated by the selective cropping of a detail from a previous image. This approach is informed by a reflection on William Blake’s line from ‘Auguries of Innocence’ where he refers to holding “Infinity in the palm of your hand . . .”
